ABOUT THE IN-SCHOOL STUDENT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PROGRAM
In-School Student Chamber of Commerce Program provides mentoring by local chamber of commerce members to students interested in becoming entrepreneurs.

It is a club formed at the school site with students as officers and members. An advisor could be a teacher, career specialist, college advisor, or guidance counselor. The Activities include workshops at a chamber member's place of business, tours of chambers of commerce, career shadowing, and mock job interviews. One student is quoted as saying, "The adults really listen to YOU."

A role model chamber of commerce consists of a group of individuals that volunteer their services and expertise to help students with small business development, entrepreneurship skills, leadership, self esteem team building and community service.

Learning Areas

Some of the learning areas are: volunteerism, employability skills, developing a business plan, getting a job, leadership and team building skills, international marketing and developing a positive attitude on the job, at play and at home.

How Can I Join?

Membership in the In-School Student Chamber of Commerce is available in elementary, middle, senior, adult, technical, alternative, and post-secondary Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
